Armone:
President and Founder
Armone is a former competitive cyclist and classically trained dancer who truly understands how various activities can affect body composition. She first discovered Pilates as a solution to slim down her muscle mass developed from cycling. She went on to study Pilates under a protégé of Ron Fletcher, an original student of Joseph Pilates and received her Pilates certification from Pilates guru Kathy Corey of West Coast Pilates shortly after. She also spent time training at True Pilates (formerly Drago’s) gym in New York City, home of Romana Kryzanowska, protégé of Joseph Pilates. With over eighteen years of Pilates training and teaching experience working with notable gurus and protégés in the field, Armone is a renowned resource of knowledge and experience throughout the Pilates community. Before launching Armone’s Core Connection in La Jolla, CA in 2008, she headed several Pilates studios in San Diego. Armone trains bi-coastally in New York City and San Diego, continuously expanding her knowledge of the body so that she may not only provide the best experience for her clients, but produce real, lasting results. Her goal is to continue helping her clients achieve happiness and healthiness through her unique, results-driven method of fitness.
Lindsay:
Certified Pilates Instructor
Lindsay is a former professional dancer and competitive gymnast. She discovered her passion for Pilates at an early age, leading her to complete a 500 hour comprehensive Pilates teacher-training program in 2011. As a student of health and fitness, Lindsay continues to train with an array of well respected master instructors and physical therapists around the country. She provides her clients with effective, detail-oriented and creative classes with a strong anatomic focus. Her caring approach makes her classes accessible and fun, while also producing tangible results for her clients. Her goal is to obtain the best results for her clients through functional movement.
Alice:
Certified Pilates Instructor
Originally from Virginia, Alice is a former college cheerleader with an intense passion for health and fitness. During her time as a graduate student, she developed an affinity for the numerous exercises and diverse training styles pilates has to offer. After having practiced for seven years, in 2010 Alice decided to get fully certified as a pilates instructor through Armone's certification program and has been instructing ever since. Outside of pilates, she enjoys running half marathons and golfing and attributes her improved performance in both areas to her pilates practice. She loves teaching and helping create healthier, happier lifestyles for her clients.
Mira:
Certified Pilates Instructor
Mira has had a long love affair with fitness. In high school she excelled as an all-state, varsity athlete and continued to compete as a swimmer at the collegiate level. After college, she played competitive beach volleyball earning a AAA beach rating and competed in several short distance Triathlons with a three top 3 finishes in the Mission Bay Triathlon back in the early 2000's. Mira completed her 500-hour Pilates certification in 2011 from Armone Sullivan and has been teaching at her studio ever since. Mira’s journey has taken her from the corporate world, to the life of raising a child, to a Certified Pilates Instructor. Mira has been able to embrace her passion for fitness and help others along their journey and accomplish all their health and fitness goals.
Lauren:
Certified Pilates Instructor
Lauren has been a fitness instructor in several different styles since 2008, and has dedicated many years of her life to being physically active and knowledgeable in all facets of fitness. She is a strong believer in efficient, effective workouts that produce real results for her clients, both mentally and physically. For this reason, she was drawn to pilates and the assimilation of fluidity and intense detail associated with the discipline. As she continues to teach, Lauren also involves herself in the study of various methods of exercise so that she may provide her clients with the best information available. Regardless of what style of workout she is teaching, Lauren uses the same mindful approach to create the most effective program for her clients.
